Centre for Contemporary Studies (CCS), of the Prime Ministers Museum and Library (PMML), administers a prestigious Fellowship Programme to promote original research on Modern and Contemporary India. The programme encourages scholarly work on themes such as India's historical, political, economic, social, and geopolitical developments, post-Independence challenges, democracy, governance, and India's role in the global context. It offers four categories of fellowships: Junior Fellow for promising early-career researchers, Fellow for experienced scholars with a Ph.D. and a strong publication record, Senior Fellow for eminent academics with significant scholarly contributions, and the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Fellowship, a Senior Fellowship dedicated to research on the Prime Ministers of India, the Prime Minister's Office, and democratic institutions. CCS also administers the Scholar-in-Residence Programme, which enables scholars from India and abroad (with a valid Research Visa) to undertake short-term residential research at the PMML campus for four to six weeks, fostering academic collaboration and intellectual exchange.
