About

The Prime Ministers Museum and Library (PMML) came into existence on 1 April 1966. One of the principal objectives of PMML was the promotion of original research in Modern and Contemporary Indian History. To achieve this objective, PMML established the Archives, which was created to acquire, preserve, classify, and maintain primary and non-official source material for research. The Archives was started with the acquisition of two collections viz. Jawaharlal Nehru papers and the All-India Congress Committee papers. In due course of time, a reservoir of nearly 1300 collections of personal papers of eminent leaders, freedom fighters, politicians, educationists, scientists, jurists and industrialists who contributed to the making of modern India and...
